Roxana Ramirez Herrera

PhD

Roxana is a PhD candidate at the Global Disability Innovation Hub, the UCL Interaction centre, and the UCL Aspire CREATe team. Her research focuses on the use of wearable technologies to understand and improve manual wheelchair users’ experience when navigating their everyday settings.

She has been part of the teaching team at the UCL Integrated Engineering Programme since 2017, and has provided teaching support to several Computer Science and DDI modules. She is an Associate Fellow from the Higher Education Academy and holds a scholarship from the National Council of Science and Technology in Mexico.

Prior to her PhD studies, she received a MSc in Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London, and obtained a BSc degree in Mechatronics from ITESM, Mexico. She also worked as a test engineer in Ford Motor Company. Roxana is currently based in London.
