Lauren Bond
Head of Wired & Rooted
Lauren is a nervous system regulation specialist and trauma-informed therapeutic coach with more than a decade of experience supporting individuals, groups and organisations navigating chronic stress, trauma and emotional dysregulation. Her work has spanned a range of settings, including prisons, townships and crisis centres in South Africa, where she provided support to people affected by violence, poverty and complex trauma.
At GDI Hub, Lauren will lead Wired & Rooted, our strategic initiative exploring the intersections of trauma, neurodiversity, disability and technology through research, public scholarship and professional development. Drawing on both lived and professional experience, she brings a thoughtful and deeply human perspective to questions of belonging, wellbeing and the role that emerging technologies play in shaping our relationships with ourselves, one another and the wider world.
Lauren's practice combines psychology, psychoneuroimmunology, clinical listening therapies and holistic coaching. She is particularly interested in helping people understand the connection between mind and body, and the ways in which our experiences are reflected in our nervous systems.
She holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology from Stellenbosch University, is an AMACCPH-accredited practitioner, and is also the host of the MindBody Mechanics podcast.
