Iain McKinnon
CEO and co-founder
Iain co-founded GDI Hub with Vicki and Cathy in 2016 acting as co-Director and Inclusive Design lead until taking over as CEO in 2024. As CEO, Iain leads the Community Interest Company (CIC) side of the business.
Iain has over 20 years’ experience in the disability sector, primarily as an inclusive design thought leader in the urban design space. The inclusive design lead on London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from 2011 – 2019 he has worked with disabled people and organisations of disabled people throughout his career to help create a more inclusive world. This experience helps drive his commitments and ambitions at GDI Hub and informs his lecturing at UCL.
Iain is also passionate about music and film and has a young family based in Scotland, including a daughter with ADHD, dyslexia and dyscalculia.
