Tomorrow’s disability innovation pioneers: a showcase of PHD research, ideas and technologies

Technology has the potential to change lives, no more so than in the emerging area of disability innovation.

During this webinar we will hear from scholars partaking in PHD studies with Global Disability Innovation Hub. The session will be an opportunity to find out more about some of the innovative research projects led by our PHD students taking place across UCL, Loughborough University and London College of Fashion.

We will hear from:

  • Tigmanshu Bhatnagar on Reconfigurable Tactile Display’s exploring how to present multiple lines of braille and tactile graphics. As well as developing a novel technology the work explores new disability interactions critical to tactile learners. The next stage exploring the journey of AT innovation, from need finding to commercialisation.
  • Maryam Bandukda on Multisensory Embodied Experiences, including using technology to enable and enhance the experiences of blind and partially sighted people in parks.
  • Victor Jeganathan on Blind and Partially Sighted Guide Running exploring why and how a 30 meter walk can be a major thing.
