Dr Tim Adlam is an Associate Professor of Global Disability Innovation in the GDI Hub where his research focuses on technology for children with severe neuromotor disability. Working with partners in the UK and Kenya, he is currently investigating dynamic support technology for children with dystonia, and developing powered mobility for preschool children in low and middle income environments.
Tim is co-director of the MSc in Disability Design and Innovation, which teaches students to apply design thinking to innovating solutions to complex multidisciplinary problems faced by disabled people across the world. He leads the module on Future Global Technologies for Disability and Development.
Tim is a Chartered Engineer and Clinical Scientist, and has over 20 years of experience creating useful technology for people with a wide range of physical and mental disabilities.
